Update on auctions due to COVID-19 November 2020

Nov 08, 2020

Wessex Auction Rooms take the current global pandemic extremely seriously and we were proud to be the first auction house to close their doors to the public before government guidelines instructed us to do so in March. The continued health and wellbeing of our staff and customers will always be at the forefront of our decisions.

Auctions will continue online only as they have done since March 2020.

Online bidding is available via www.easyliveauction.com and www.the-saleroom.com and we will continue to offer condition reports and additional photos to all interested bidders. Online bidding will incur additional fees levied by the chosen platform.

Bidders can also contact us via telephone to leave commission/absentee bids or book live telephone bids and both of these options incur no additional fees above our in-house buyers premium of 17%+vat

There will be no viewing in person available before December 2nd.

Bidders are invited to collect items that they have won on a strict click and collect appointment basis. Items must be paid for in advance and a time slot booked for contactless collection outside of our auction premises.

We will also be offering storage until Dec 2nd at no additional charge for those who do not wish to travel during the latest national lockdown. After Dec 2nd our usual storage fees will apply.

Our worldwide postage and packing service remains fully operational. Due to fragility or size there are some items that we are unable to ship via our in-house service but we have a number of couriers and packing companies that we can recommend in these instances. Please contact us before bidding if you would like to check any details of our postage and packing options.

We are still offering our regular valuation service via email please contact the team on enquiries@wessexauctionrooms.co.uk or find the relevant valuer via the link on our department pages

Entries are still invited for all auctions and pre-approved items can also be dropped off at our premises via allocated time slots using a contactless system. Please get in touch with the team to discuss
